Statement
Alannah byrne graduated from the Crawford College of Art and Design in June 2009 after completing a BA in Fine Art, graduating with first class Honours. She received the Ciaran Langford memorial bursary award from the Backwater Artist Group, a six-month residency at Cork Printmakers and also received the Art Trail graduate award. Since then she has completed a residency at the ‘Couch’ gallery of art, 85, north main st. where she co-currated an exhibition ‘The Inconclusive Collective’. In November 2009 she carried out a three week residency at ‘The Space’ gallery, 7, south mall where she constructed a site specific installation ‘Lesson one, plan 268’ as part of Art Trail 2009. She continues her practice at The Backwater and anticipates begining her residency at The Printmakers.
